The
Education Business
An
education has been a basic human right since 1952 with
the signing of the European Human Rights Convention.
High levels of education have benefits for the economy
as a whole and on an individual level. Higher rates
of education lead to higher growth levels for the economy
and a well educated individual could expect to earn
considerably more over the course of a career than his
less educated compatriot.
In many countries around the world there has been a
trend towards private education providers rather than
a state education. A private education has a number
of advantages over a state education. Generally private
schools have smaller class sizes and the best teachers
attracted by higher salaries in the private sector.
Also they tend to have better infrastructure such as
more modern buildings and equipment. Most importantly
of all they achieve significantly better results than
their state run counterparts.
In America virtually all higher level education has
to be paid for unless a scholarship can be obtained.
There is a massive market for the education of overseas
students in America and other countries with a well
developed educational system. A university education
will be expensive but it is seen as a long term investment
in the hope of achieving higher earnings over the lifetime
of a career.
While private providers of education are achieving better
results and higher standards than state run institutions
there will always be a demand for their services. With
an education seen as a long term life time investment
there will always be a demand for high quality, proven
education providers.
